Thanks for the clarification--I am writing a piece for National Geographic Adventure. It's a commissioned piece which will definitely run as
part of their annual World On The Cheap special section (October 2001 issue). I would love it if you could send my a copy of the Ride Guide from Florida. Can't wait to see if it's as useful as it sounds.

Hi Allan
Damn, I'm really impressed how good You are organized and how quick my order
was processed! I hope to receive it soon and that I will be as impressed by
the content of the guide.
Thank You!

Hi there,
I received my copy of the ride guide which you were kind enough to send promptly... thanks. I love it. It smells of adventure, and the thought of travelling at such low costs makes me feel very smug towards the ignorant masses who are unaware of such cunning means to travel. Well done. Regards

Hi there. The guide arrived yesterday, thank you very much. It looks interesting, I think there are real possibilities here. I accessed your
members-only board and it looks useful. I am all in favor of your posting
pilots who are time-building even though it wasn't your original intent.
For those of us who live in the US this is really good info--as you know the
US is HUGE and for me, in Alaska, it's difficult to get out and do the legwork
for myself for rides down in the Lower 48. I'll keep you posted on my luck on
this trip. If there is anything I can do for you up here, let me know. I was
leaving for Europe at the end of January but have delayed it until the end
of March because business is so good (I drive a cab.) Thanks again, best of
luck, and don't hesitate to ask for any info or whatever you might need
regarding Alaska.
Sincerely--Kathy Johnston
Hi
I can't wait to receive the book, I am going around the world for a couple of years and think the book will make the ultimate companion!!
I went to the 'goggle' search engine and put in 'cheapest flights' and it
was about third in the list. The only thing I would note is that it didn't come up under cheap flights which is what i tried a couple of times first.

Dear Adventure air,
Thanks for the confirmation that our Ride Guide is on
it's way - we really cant wait till it arrives. We
found your site when we were surfing around trying
unsuccessfully to find my wife a cheap flight to India
where she is to do missionary work with Mother
Teresa's sisters. As we are both on pensions, we were
devastated to find that the flights were over a
thousand dollars - here's to the Ride Guide and
possibly a cheaper flight than that!.

Mike,
Thanks for your reply and for sending the book, I had a quick look
at the guide last night, I can't wait to read it, it all
seems very exciting.
Thanks again, Elise Obereigner.
Hello!
I am really excited that I found your site and your
service. I just wanted to make sure that the "Flight Departure Board" was still in operation and what the
most recent version of your published flight guide is.
There is no date on the site that states when it was
last updated so I just want to be sure this great
service is still able to be utilized. Please let me
know if the current book listed on the website is the
most recent one or if their is an updated version in
the works.

Mike,
Thanks for your help on this--I just ordered a copy of
your rideguide. I'm leaving for Ecuador in a month or
so, hope this will help me find the flights I need.

Deborah
Hi there,
My name is Dominika Kronsteiner and I bought your
guide a couple of weeks (16/01/01)ago on the net with
my credit card. I read a few pages of it and really
like it!!! What a great idea! Anyway, my mom thought
it was a travel brochure/advert and threw it away -
especially before I could check on page 17 for the
password.
I know it is my own fault and it isn't really that
expensive to buy, but I am going travelling soon and
am fairly broke and trying to save up.
Is there any chance I could get another copy???
PPPPLLLLLEEEEAAAASSSE!!!
A few days later Dominika made her mom find her guide in the trash - which we happily exchanged for one without
coffee grinds, tomato ketchup and other stuff on.
Dear
Adventurair,
I am ashamed to say it but i never bought a copy of your book but read
someone else's. I never really used any of your methods in the book,
basically because i couldn't remember it all. But it came in real handy in
Cairns Queensland Jan 01.
We had bought tickets on one of the
local airlines, who informed us when we checked in that the flight had
been completely cancelled !!!, they also told us that no other airline
could take us. We had to get up to the top of Cape York, where we were
meeting a sailing yacht, so it was pretty frantic. Then I remembered the
Ride Guide and some of the stuff i had read. I went around to the other
side of the airport and asked about any empty seats going north from all
the Air taxi companies, the flight schools and, cargo companies, they were
all pretty receptive to my enquires, but none had anything going my way.
Then one operator I spoke to said they knew of a commercial pilot that
flew up there regularly from a different airport. (Townsville), He usually
stopped thru Cairns for fuel. They called him for me and I arranged a ride
for myself and travel companion. We made it to the boat later that evening
and had a fantastic trip sailing to Bali. There was no other way of
getting to my destination that day with the airline, and we would have definitely
missed the boat, the Ride Guide saved us major nightmare from occurring, I
have since kept checking back to your site and thought it only fair of
letting you know how well it worked for me.

To Adventurair,
I have to say I am soooo happy that someone made the effort and had the
idea to produce such a guide. I have been thinking about ways to travel
cheaper, more interesting, adventurous for a while but was just never sure
whether that kind of travelling was possible.

To Adventurair, Dear Mike,
Maybe I'm just plain unlucky but yours was
one of THE best answers I've received in my quest for RIO. I'll follow
your suggestions, I'll continue with my current methods as well
as the ideas you have given me, now i know some new questions to ask the
travel agents. Thanks
again for your answer Mike, I don't know why but it's hard to get
knowledge help on airlines, fares and schedules. People, such as yourself,
who do take the time to answer demanding questions from anxiety riddled
narcissists; such as I; should be awarded heavy duty GOOD KARMA points.
Take
care....BTW...Rideguide is a very unique site.
Billy USA Dear
Adventurair, I just got my Guide yesterday morning, and I have already
read it from cover to cover. It has given me so many ideas for my trip. It
just smells of Adventure, can't wait to get going, Thanks.
